UP: 6-year-old raped, police releases photo of accused; search ops underway

Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur Police on Friday released sketches of the suspect in case of a 6-yeargirl who was raped and brutally assaulted in Gadhmukteshwar.

The victim was playing outside her house when a man picked her up on Thursday night. Next day, the girl was found in a sugarcane field in gory condition with multiple injuries on her body, her private parts were also damaged.


The girl was first admitted to a district hospital from where she was taken to Medical College in Meerut. The doctor confirmed that she was raped and her private parts were badly damaged.

Police have lodged a case of rape, POSCO and attempt to murder against an unknown person. The CCTV footages have been collected but there was no breakthrough.

Hapur SP Sanjeev Suman while talking to Mirror Now said that they have released the sketches on the basis of the statement of eyewitnesses. Three kinds of sketches have been released. At least eight teams are working to nab the accused person.

The villagers also displayed annoyance against the police inaction at the initial time of investigation when the family approached the police. The family members and villagers themselves searched the girl whole night and later a neighbour found the girl in the filed.

However, Police, stated that they registered the case late night only and started the lookig for the girl. It is suspected that the accused is of the same village. A team has also got a lead and they conducted a raid but the suspect managed to flee before the police team reached his hideout.

In the meantime, the condition of the girl is critical. She had undergone multiple surgeries. Doctors say she is under observation.

Apart from that, a mobile video has also gone viral on social media when the girl's father was seen pushing the stretcher for his daughter when she was shifted from Hapur to Meerut Medical College. However, the hospital administration said that they are inquiring the matter.
