UP: 22-year-old girl, her mother end life after 'obscene' video goes viral

In an appalling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district on Wednesday, a 22-year-old gir and her mother allegedly ended their own lives after the girl’s smutty video went viral on the internet.

As maintained by police, the duo victim were perturbed as for the girl’s viral video which was uploaded on the internet by her ex-lover. The incident happened in Nagrasen village which comes under the the jurisdiction of Tarabganj police station.


A villager stated that the girl was married and her ex-paramore used to torment her even after her marriage. The accused has been identified as Satyam.

As per the police, the accused Satyam sent an obscene video clip of him and the victim to her husband and also made the video viral on social media.

"The incident led to the friction in the relationship between the girl and her husband. The girl and her mother did not come out of their house the whole day on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we saw the duo hanging in their house," the report quoted a local as saying.

Police have taken the accused into their custody and case has been lodged against him under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Gonda SP Shailesh Pandey said the accused was harassing the girl saying he will inform about their relationship to her husband.

The accused also behaved badly with the victim and made a smutty video clip using his mobile phone. He had started blackmailing the victim telling her to stay with him. As the girl refused, he sent the video to her husband and made it viral on social media.
