Telangana man rapes, murders woman and then sexually assaults victim’s corpse

In a horrifying incident reported from Telangana, a 25-year old man was taken into police custody for raping a woman, beating her to death and sexually abusing her corpse. The crime happened in Choutuppal town, which is located 50 km away from Hyderabad.

The accused worked as a construction supervisor, he had been stalking the victim, a 24-year-old woman, who lived with her husband in a godown close to his house.

The accused had noticed that the victim would stay alone for long hours while the husband worked as a security guard in a nearby college, reported The Times of India.

The accused, on Monday, 9th May, snuck into the godown and raped the woman after threatening to murder her. However, within an hour, the accused killed the woman.

As maintained by the Choutuppal Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Uday Reddy, the accused killed the woman victim by battering her head with a blunt object and repeatedly raped the dead body.

After carrying out the crimes, he stole her jewellery and ran away from the scene. On the basis of a police complaint filed by the victim’s husband, police lodged a case of rape, murder and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Police spoke to the locals in the locality, identified the accused and took him into custody on Wednesday, May 11, from Malkapur village, located hardly one kilometre away from the crime spot.

The police team recovered the stolen jewellery from his possession and produced him in court, which sent him to judicial remand.
