Tamil Nadu Murder.

A newly married woman from Tamil Nadu’s Kumbakonam was invited home for a feast arranged by her brother. The ride home soon took a horrifying turn, when the brother, together with his brother-in-law, murdered the woman and her husband using a sickle.

The 23-year-old, identified as Saranya, who was working as a nurse, tied the knot with Mohan five days back. The newly-wed couple paid a visit to her home on Monday as she had to get back the gold she pledged before getting married.

The woman’s brother Sakthivel then invited the couple for a feast at his residence. When the couple decided to leave, Sakthivel and his brother-in-law, identified as Ranjith pulled out sickles and hacked Mohan to death. Before she could call for help, the duo hacked her to death as well.

Sakthivel and Ranjith then surrendered to Kumbakonam Town Police. The preliminary investigation divulged that Sakthivel was planning to get Saranya married to his brother-in-law Ranjith, but against her will, however, Saranya married Mohan.

Local police recovered Mohan and Saranya’s lifeless bodies and sent them to the Kumbakonam Government hospital for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter is in process.

In another incident coming in from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, a minor boy has been booked under relevant sections of the POCSO Act for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl. The matter was reported in the Khurja Dehat Police Station.

According to the new agency PTI, the accused was caught by the victim's family members on Sunday, after which he was handed over to the police.

A case has been lodged against the minor accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and IPC section 376 (rape).

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
