A shocking incident has taken place in Jaipur city, where fearless miscreants dug a tunnel close to the temporary jail built on the premises of sessions court. The tunnel was dug overnight by the miscreants.

There was a high possibility of a conspiracy to escape a high-profile prisoner through the tunnel. The detainees were not brought back to the temporary jail after the authorities learned about the tunnel.

As soon as the matter of tunnel came to the fore in the court premises, the police force came into action and started investigating the matter.

Notably, the Jaipur session court is the largest court in Rajasthan. The premises include 150 courts, and as many as 20,000 lawyers practice here. Due to the sensitive location, there is always a large police presence, and officers keep a close eye on everyone.

But the tunnel incident has raised questions over the tight security arrangements.

No prisoners will be brought from the Central Jail to the temporary jail

The detainees were prevented from being transported from the Central Jail to the court's temporary jail as soon as the tunnel was revealed. The prisoners are brought from different jails during the hearing. They were kept in the barracks of the temporary jail till they were produced in the court.

Further details are awaited, and police are investigating the matter.
