Raipur: Trapped in love triangle, minor allegedly stabs youth to death

A minor allegedly stabbed a youth to death and a video of the incident went viral on social media. Enmeshed in a love triangle, the accused allegedly stabbed the youth after his elder brother urged him to do the same.

In the video, the accused's brother can be heard saying. "Are you done? Do whatever you want." The accused is said to be 17-years-old.


The victim was identified as Rahul Tandi (18). On Sunday, Rahul was sitting with his friend in Budhatalab when the accused minor's elder brother approached him, asking for a lift and Tandi agreed.

Rahul took the accused's brother to Tikrapara where he (accused) was waiting for them. The 17-year-old boy allegedly pulled down Rahul off his bike and starting stabbing him. Meanwhile, the accused's brother pulled out his phone and started recording the crime.

According to The Times of India, the 17-year-old was inebriated at the time of the incident. He kept dragging Tandi's body and continued stabbing him even after he was dead. The accused brother could be heard saying, "It's done, he's dead, leave it."

The two accused were taken into police custody on Monday. They were booked under section 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As per Raipur’s additional SP Tarkeshwar Patel, a police patrol vehicle crossed the area one hour before the incident took place. People living in the area played mute spectators to the incident and stepped out of their homes after the cops arrived.
