Noida DM Suhas LY rebukes officer after women complain of shortage of essential goods

The number of confirmed cases for coronavirus has been surged in UP and hence, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to complete lockdown in the hotspot area in the state. As many 34 localities will be remain sealed till April 15 in an attempt to stop the further spread of the contagious virus in the NCR, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration said on Wednesday.

Amid announcement of complete lockdown, women of Noida localities approached the newly appointed Noida District Magistrate Suhas LY’s residence in Noida sector 27 and were complaining about a shortage of food and essential goods, NBT reports said.


Since Suhas LY has been appointed as a new DM of Gatum Buddh Nagar on March 31, he is in action mode and trying all the possible steps to curb the virus and help the needy. The same thing happened on Tuesday when women from a different sector of Noida i.e. Sector 9, Sector 16 and others complain that they haven’t received any ration from the last 17 days, navbharattimes.indiatimes.com reported.

After hearing women, DM Suhas immediately called officers and reprimanded him. He also asked the officer to supply food in these areas otherwise he will reach his office. However, women returned their homes after getting assurance from DM.

District Magistrate Suhas LY had already assured people about home delivery of essential services at all places in Gautam Buddh Nagar. He also urged people not to venture out during lockdown and also avoid panic buying.

 

"Dear residents, no need for panic buying. Identified hotspots shall be sealed and home delivery of essential commodities and services shall be available at all places in the district. We shall take strict action against rumour mongerers/spreaders," District Magistrate Suhas LY said in a brief statement.

According to the official list, the areas that have been sealed in Noida are Chauda village, sectors 22, 27, 28, 37, 41, 44, Supertech Capetown in Sector 74, Hyde Park in Sector 78, Logix Blossom County and Paras Tierra in sector 137 and Wazidpur village, Golfshire in Sector 150, Jaypee Wishtown sector 128, GrandOmaxe in Sector 93B, 8 JJ colony, Designer Park in Sector 62, Lotus Boulevard in Sector 100 and Sector 5.

 

While in Greater Noida, sealed areas are -- sector Alpha I, ATS Dolce in Zeta I, Mehak Residency in Accheja village, Omnicron III, Sector 3, Stellar MI Omnicron III, and Ghodi Baccheda village

Nirala Greenshire in Sector 2, Vishnoi village in Dadri, Palm Olympia in Sector 16 are the localities in Greater Noida (West) also known as Noida Extension, it added.
