Noida: 16-year-old boy commits suicide as father scolds him over studies

A 16-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after being scolded by his father over studies. The alleged incident happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on Sunday.

As maintained by police officials, the victim resorted to the extreme step after his father reprimanded him in the morning. The deceased's parents work as daily wage labourers.


The station house officer of Phase 3 police station, Amit Kumar Singh stated that, "The family has said that due to schools being shut currently, the boy was slacking with studies and had started keeping bad company. Apparently the father had scolded him in the morning for wasting time."

Furthermore, a police official stated that the family found their son hanging in his room. They rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, the officer said.

"No suicide note was recovered at the spot and the boy’s body was sent for an autopsy. It will be handed over to the family later," statedthe SHO.
