MP Horror: Visually impaired woman raped in Bhopal; family stuck in Rajasthan due to lockdown

Visually impaired woman raped in Bhopal

A horrific case was reported from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal where a 53-year-old visually impaired woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified accused inside her house on Friday in Shahpura area. 

As per reports, the woman, who is a bank officer, was alone at home during the incident as her husband and family have been stranded in Rajasthan due to the coronavirus lockdown.


As per the victim's complaint, she was asleep in her home when an unidentified man entered her room and raped her.

At present, police have no clue regarding the accused and an investigation is underway. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Sahu said that police have visited the spot and inspected the entire crime scene while the victim has been sent for medical examination. During an investigation, Police found that the unidentified accuse entered the woman's room through balcony. 

The police have filed an FIR against unknown accused in Shahpura police station and have booked him under sections 376 and 377 of Indian Penal Code. While a hunt is on to nab the accuse.
