‘Modi government is second parent to my daughter’: Father lauds govt for bringing his daughter from COVID-19-hit Italy

The World Health Organisation has applauded the Indian government for handling the coronavirus outbreak with all precautionary measures in a planned way. From bringing the stranded Indians in other countries to set up quarantined facilities within the country, the Modi government has shown its best performance amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amid this operation to fight against the deadly virus, an emotional post has surfaced the Internet in which a father has thanked the Modi government for bringing his daughter from COVID-19 hit Italy.


According to the post, father named Sujay Kadam whose daughter was stranded in Milan, Italy, where the complete shutdown has been announced in a view of coronavirus outbreak.

As per reports in Times Now, Sujay, the father of the student is a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra, who verified the story.

Sujay mentioned in his post that his daughter went to Italy, Milan on February 4th for her Masters but her college was closed due to the coronavirus mayhem in the country.

 

He added that “On 28th February she said that everything is okay and signed the rent agreement for four months but on 10th of March everything closed down including supermarkets.”

In Italy, the situation has been worsened day-by-day as over 2000 people died till now. Due to the lockdown in the city, Sujay asked his daughter to come back to India.

The worried father sent an SOS mail to the Indian embassy in Italy on March 12, 2020.

 

The surprising thing for him that the Indian Embassy in Italy called him on the night of March 13, 2020, and informed him that his daughter will be rescued from Italy to India on March 14.

Sujay said he used to criticize the government for many years but now he believed that the Indian government had acted as a father figure for him and his daughter.

Meanwhile, his daughter is back in India on March 15 and was kept in quarantine at ITBP hospital. The delighted father thanked the government and said that the government took care of his daughter including food and medication just like parents do for their children.

He also thanked the Indian Embassy staff, including the Air India crew and ITBP hospital staff for their support.

Sujay Kadam also said that the Modi government is the second parent to my daughter.

He also advised other stranded students and their parents not to panic and said that the Indian Embassy is taking good care of all Indian citizens for their kids.
