Minor girl leaves home after tiff with family, gets gangraped
In a most recent incident of crime against women reported from the country, half a dozen or so men gangraped a 16-year-old girl in two different incident within a course of three and a half hours of one another in Nagpur on Thursday. Reportedly, after the girl left home following a feud with her family. Hitherto, police have taken four people into their custody.
According to reports, the victim had an altercation with her family, after which she left her residence. She took a rickshaw to go to Civil Lines, but the driver got to know that she had no money to pay him and asked her to get down.
Subsequently, the girl asked two auto-drivers, identified as Mohd Touseef, aged 26, and Mohd Shahnawaz alias Sana, aged 25, for help. The duo took her to a railway collie’s room and raped her. Two collies also allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
Touseef and Sana gave the victim to one Mohd Musheer, aged 23, also an auto-rickshaw driver, and another man near the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH). Musheer and the other man sexually assaulted the girl inside an autorickshaw and later ran away from the location, as per a report by The Times of India.
Later, two auto driver caught sight of the girl and asked her what had happened. The victim told that she wanted to go to Nashik. The two drivers helped her in buying a train ticket to Nashik and gave her some cash.
A Railway police team spotted the teenager at the Nagpur railway station and had a suspicion that something was awry, the railway staff approached the girl, later they handed over the girl to an NGO.
The girl was then taken to a shelter home, where she later revealed that she had been sexually assaulted. Thereafter, the cops started a probe that resulted in the arrest of Sana, Touseef, Musheer and Mohd Naushad under applicable sections.
