Man thrashes farm labourer to death with stones over petty dispute

In a horrifying incident reported from Ludhiana's Dakha area, a man allegedly killed a farm labourer for Rs 5,000. The incident occurred at the Jungpur village on Friday. Reportedly, the labourer had taken a loan of Rs 5,000 from the accused and was not able to pay it back. Angered over the same, the accused allegedly murdered the laabourer.

The accused was identified as Anurag Singh. A native of Uttar Pradesh’s Banda, the accused allegedly thrashed the victim to death using stones. The perished was identified as Shiv Narain.


The victim used to work for the village sarpanch Amarjit Singh. He used to look after Amarjit’s fields. On Thursday, when the village sarpanch had gone to see his fields, he caught sight of Narain (Victim) and the accused engaging in a fight. Amarjit instantly stepped in between the two men and calmed them down.

According to the Hindustan Times, following this, Shiv Narain told Amarjit Singh that he had taken a loan of Rs 5,000 from Anurag but was not able to pay it back the next month.

On Friday, when Singh had gone to the village, he saw Anurag thrashing Narain. Reportedly, Anurag shoved Narain to the floor and beat him up to death using a stone. When Singh caught sight of the accused, he caught hold of him and called the police.

The officer who is investigating the matter, inspector Jagjit Singh, stated that the accused was charged under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and an FIR was filed in connection with the case.
