Man dies of shock after thieves steal valuable items

A 68-year-old man died of shock after a robbery at his home in the Bharuch district of Gujarat.

The now-deceased man was identified as Prakashchandra Rao, a resident of Rander Road in Surat city.


On May 27, Rao along with his wife Daksha went to his ancestral village Achhaliya in Bharuch to participate in a religious function.

According to timesnownews.com, some unidentified thieves had entered the ancestral home of Roa in the early hours of Friday (May 28). The burglars latched the door of the room in which Das and his wife were sleeping and then executed the crime.

When Rao’s wife Daksha woke up, she found that somebody had locked the bedroom from outside. Rao and his wife called neighbours for their help. The neighbours found the backdoor of the house was open and items of the house were scattered over the floor. After Rao’s bedroom was unlocked, he found the bag in which cash and jewellery were kept being empty, a report published by The Times of India.

According to the reports, burglars made away with cash and gold and silver jewellery worth around Rs 25 lakh from his ancestral house.

The most shocking thing that happened after the robbery was that Rao suffered a cardiac arrest as he was not able to bear the huge loss and within minutes he succumbed to the shock

His son, Jaykumar, performed the last rites and then filed a police complaint at Umalla police station.

Based on the complaint, the police initiated investigations into the matter.
