Maharashtra Horror: Man sets woman on fire after an argument

In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man allegedly killed a woman in Byramji town in Nagpur, police said on Sunday.

According to the news agency, PTI, the 32-year-old man allegedly set the woman ablaze and then killed her.


The accused identified as Shadab Alam. He set the woman on fire after an argument on Friday. The woman took her last breathe in hospital on Saturday, a Sadar police station official said.

According to a police official, the accused man himself took the victim to the hospital and then fled from there. He also told police that she had self-immolated at a different spot.

However, police exposed him and found that he burnt the woman.

With the help of technical surveillance, call records, and lack of burn injuries, police nailed his lie.

According to PTI reports, the man had become friends with the woman on social media and didn’t tell her about her marriage and also the fact that he had two children, the official added.

Meanwhile, police arrested the accused under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
