Kerala Horror: School teacher held for sexually abusing Class 4 student

A horrific case was reported from Kerala where a class 4 student was sexually abused by a teacher in the school toilet. The accused teacher identified as Kuniyil Padmarajan was also a local BJP leader in Trippangottur. The incident came to light when the minor girl declined to go to school. On hearing this they got suspicious and questioned her for being hesitant to attend the school to which the girl narrated the entire incident.

Her parents were taken by a shock and immediately they approached the police and Childline India Foundation, an NGO. After recording the statement, on 17th March the accuse was booked under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act, however, the accuse was arrested on 15th April, Wednesday i.e. four weeks after registering the case. As per police, the girl had been facing the abuse since 15th January.


As per Times Now, after the gruesome incident, Congress party workers stage a protest outside the district police chief’s office for allegedly delaying the accuse teacher’s arrest. Also, CPM and other groups flared up demanding immediate arrest of the accused teacher. After all this a special investigating team was commissioned under Thalassery DSP KV Venugopal and on Wednesday police arrested the accuse.

Meanwhile, an allegation has surfaced that the victim was mentally tortured by the investigating police in the wake to record her statement. Not just this there are allegations that police were protecting the accuse.
