A case of sexual assault brought forth the revelation of a drug and sex criminal racket that had been operating in Kerala. A minor girl (14) from Malappuram was allegedly drugged and raped time and again for months by the racket.

The Childline India Foundation in the district busted the illegal enterprise and the teenager was saved. Reportedly, the racket used to target school girls by means of social media (Instagram).

After being friend with the girls, the accused used to drug and abuse them sexually. The victim was rescued by the Childline last week.

According to the girl, she was first given ganja. After this, the accused gave her hashish oil and cocaine. The accused did not stop here, they promised to supply drugs that could be injected. The girl was then raped for several months.

Following the rescue, the teenager was sent to the Child Welfare Committee. It is reportedly that the girl is battling with withdrawal symptoms.

After the rescue, the police filed seven cases as regards to the racket. While the Kalpakanchery police suspect that 7 people are associated with the racket, only one has been taken into custody so far.

Further details are awaited.
