An altercation took a horrifying turn on Sunday after a man and his son were allegedly shot dead in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur. The deceased duo’s family members have alleged police inaction in the matter.

Earlier on Saturday, the accused, identified as Surendra Singh and his neighbour's family were drinking together. During this time, a relative of Surendra allegedly slapped his neighbour Lakhan Singh.

On Sunday, Surendra and Lakhan reached a decision to talk over the matter and compromise. However, all of a sudden, Lakhan opened fire with a country-made gun. The bullets hit Surendra and his 17-year-old son Sachin, killing both of them.

A video clip of two individuals holding a country-made pistols has also gone viral. Bharatpur SP, Devendra Bishnoi said, "A case of murder has been registered against Lakhan, Dilawar and 12 others. Dilawar too has suffered a bullet injury and is in our custody in a hospital. Other accused ran away from the crime scene. Teams have been set-up to trace and arrest them. "

According to a relative of the deceased victim, they had alerted the police about the unfortunate incident on Saturday, following an argument, but no action was initiated by them. The relative told The Times of India, "We demand the suspension of those involved in the negligence. "

Taking notice of the allegations made by the deceased victim's family, SP Bishnoi suspended assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Vijay Singh and head constable Man Singh for suspected non-performance of duty.
