IAF personnel get ready for grand flypast on Republic Day [Watch]

Preparatory measures of the Indian Air Force are at its hight for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations when they will display the largest number of aircraft in a monumental flypast.

The Air Force issued a series of clips on its official Instagram handle that displays how the pilots and other representatives are getting ready for the grand event in the national capital. The clips highlighted MiG 29s fighter aircrafts, Chinook helicopters, and C130 Super Hercules military transport aircraft. The pilots and crew of these aircraft seem to be optimistic and ready to put up a show in the skies.


“It's indeed a moment of honour and pride for us to be part of the Republic Day celebrations. It takes a lot of hard work and effort from each one of us,” said an IAF officer in the first video that focused on the MiGs.

Another clip put on view a crew getting ready with the Chinooks. “Being in Air Force is a matter of pride for all of us,” said an officer, member of the crew. The Chinooks carries out a variety of roles in testing landscapes for the IAF. These helicopters give an matchless tactical lift ability of the IAF – from hills that are not accessible by road, including Siachen, to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions across India and other friendly nations.

The third clip demonstrated the crew behind the Hercules as the transport aircraft is rolled out the tarmac with a grand thud.

As stated by the IAF this year's flypast will be the grandest ever and 75 aircraft would take part in the event to mark “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” on the occasion of 75 years of Independence.
