Hyderabad horror: Couple rapes, murders their minor daughter

A couple from Hyderabad was taken into police custody from Maharashtra’s Solapur railway station on charges of rape and murder of their minor daughter.

The accused couple was reportedly making an attempt to run away to Rajasthan. They were on board Secunderabad-Rajkot Express and the other passengers felt suspicious about the child sleeping since start of the train journey.


Since there was no movement of the child for almost six hours, other passengers alerted the railway police, who then called the Solapur police. After receiving the information, the police took the couple into their custody. The police said that the father raped his minor daughter ahead of throttling her to death.

The accused father later threatened his wife and son and compelled them to come along with him to their native place in Rajasthan to destroy the evidence.

Railway Assistant Inspector Amol Gawli has registered a complaint with the Railway Police. The case will now be handed over to Hyderabad police.

Further investigation into the matter is in process.

In another incident coming in from Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, a man in an inebriated state axed his wife to death before committing suicide by slitting his throat.

The deceased has been identified as Ganapati and his wife Tulasi. The incident was reported near a tribal hamlet. As maintained by police, Ganapathi was addicted to alcohol and often got into fights with his wife.

Earlier on Monday, during an altercation Ganapati axed Tulasi to death and locked the house from inside.

The locals in the area called the cops the next day, before the police arrived, Ganapati reportedly committed suicide by slitting his throat with a sharp edged object.

The police have lodged a case and have sent the dead bodies for autopsy.
