Haryana man shoots wife, mother-in-law dead over suspicion of infidelity

In a latest development coming in from Haryana’a Faridabad, a 35-year-old man allegedly shot his wife, mother-in-law and another man dead on Thursday after suspecting his wife of infidelity.

Police have now taken the accused identified as Neeraj Chawla into their custody. His friend, identified as Lekhraj, a tailor by profession, has also been held in connection with the crime. The deceased apparently was a friend of Chawla's brother-in-law.


The unfortunate incident occured in Gothda Mohbtabad area. The main accused in the case is Chawla, he owns a shirt button business in NIT. Chawla's brother-in-law also sustained a gunshot injury in his waist and is said to be in serious condition at a private hospital.

As maintained by police, Chawla's wife recently parted ways with her husband and was living at her mother's house along with her son.

According to a report by the Indian Express, The woman and her family had recently rented a house in the village.

"Four gunshots were fired. The two accused have been arrested. Prima facie, it appears that Chawla suspected his wife of infidelity and hatched a plan to murder her and her mother. He also had a dispute with his brother-in-law over Rs 10 lakh related to the sale of a car. We will also question the boy. Chawla had made a phone call to his son and asked him to open the main door," the report quoted inspector Dayananad, SHO, Dhauj, as saying.

Following the killings, the accused ran away from the crime spot on a bike at 2:51am. It is also alleged that the woman and her mother were stabbed with a knife after they were gunned down.

The accused have been apprehended by a team of crime branch and Dhauj police. The cops have also found a bike and two firearms from the man.

The dead bodies have been sent for post mortem. The accused have been charged under Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) 34 (common intention) and other sections of Arms Act.
