In a shocking incident brought to light from Haryana’s Palwal district, a man allegedly poisoned his family to death ahead of ending his own life.

The incident became known when five members of a family were found dead at the Aurangabad village on Wednesday. Reportedly, the owner of the house poisoned the other family members before committing suicide.

The police came to know about the incident after the 37-year-old man’s father approached them and filed a complaint. It is suspected that the man took the step because of a family feud.

The horrifying incident happened during the late hours of Tuesday but the police came to know about the same at around 7.30 am on Wednesday. The deceased man's father saw that no one had come out of the house in the morning and went inside to check. The man then saw all the dead bodies lying in one room.

According to initial investigation, the house owner gave poison to his wife, 11-year-old son, 7-year-old daughter and 9-year-old niece. After this, the man strangulated the victims to ensure that they had died, The Indian Express reported.

After making sure that all of them were dead, the accused allegedly ended his own life. The police have not found a suicide note from the house. A senior official privy to the case said, "A family feud is suspected to be the reason. "

While the police suspect family dispute to be the main reason behind the unfortunate incident, the complainant has claimed foul play from an outsider. The dead bodies have been sent to the Palwal Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
