Haryana Horror: Parents allegedly murder minor daughter in suspected honour killing

In a horrifying incident suspected to be a case of honour killing, parents of a minor girl, aged 16, have been taken into police custody for allegedly killing their daughter in Haryana’s Sonipat. With a view to ruin the evidence, the couple even buried their daughter after killing her, police said.

As maintained by a report in the Indian Express, the spine-chilling incident happened on Wednesday and it has been found in the preliminary investigation that the parents poisoned their daughter to death.


According to reports, a police officer was alerted about the incident on Thursday afternoon, after which he rushed to the crime spot.

SHO of Gannaur police station, Sunil Kumar was quoted by Indian Express as saying that following the murder, the accused even buried the dead body of the victim in a bid to destroy evidence.

With the investigation underway in the case thus far, cops are suspecting a case of honour killing. Quoting a police officer, Indian Express reported that during the interrogation, the accused said that they suspected their daughter's had a love affair with someone.

The two accused in the case have been taken into police custody and an FIR has also been lodged against them under IPC Section 302 (murder). The accused were produced in court on Friday and sent to police remand for a day.
