Gurugram constable doctored video of female colleague

The Haryana Police held a constable for allegedly uploading a doctored video of a woman constable. Reports claim that he upload the fake video of his woman colleague on the social networking site. The video had gone viral on social media.

The constable was identified as Sumit Kumar who has been posted at the women police station (South) in the Manesar district of Haryana.


The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, Preet Pal Singh told media person that the victim is involved in a case and some of the documents, proofs, and video evidence are stored in Malkhana in the police station, Times Now reports said.

The accused constable had stolen those proofs, including video from the office. He then edited some video shots by pasting the photo of a woman constable in the clip.

He uploaded the video by using a fake ID on Facebook. Singh further added that citing the serious nature of the offence and they took the action against the man after woman filed complaint against him.

The matter has been transferred to the cybercrime cell which has detected the IP address of the computer through which the video was shared on social media.

Meanwhile, the constable has been arrested and further probe in the matter is underway.
