Ghaziabad triple murder: 3 members of family shot dead at Loni home

In what was a disturbing case of triple murder reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, three members of a family were shot dead and one injured in a shootout carried out by an unknown assailants on Sunday.

The horrific episode happened at the family’s house in Ghaziabad’s Loni area late on Sunday. The unknown miscreants fired shots at Riyazuddin, his wife and their two sons inside their residence. Riyazuddin and his two sons lost their lives on the spot while his wife sustained bullet injuries and is stated to be in serious condition.


The cops, acting on receiving information, arrived at the crime spot and began investigations. According to the police, three men succumbed to their injuries, while the woman is receiving treatment at a hospital. The matter is being investigated, police added.

So far, no arrest have been made, and the police are yet to make sure the motive behind the crime.

This comes a day following an elderly man, who tried to stop two bike-borne men from running away after snatching a woman's chain, the man was injured as the duo opened fire at him on Saturday. The incident took place in the Chhatta Bazar area which comes under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station in Mathura.

The police said, around 6 am on Saturday, the snatchers robbed Lata Chaturvedi of her chain when she was on her way to Dwarkadhish temple. The snatchers, however, lost balance and fell down. Mathuresh Chaturvedi (65) tried to stop them from running away by hitting them with a club. The duo took out a gun and started shooting at him before escaping.

The victim, identified as Mathuresh was taken to a hospital for medical attention, police said, further adding that efforts were underway to take the miscreants into their custody.
