Delhi: 10-month-old toddler crushed under wheels of Mercedes in Tilak Nagar, driver nabbed

A ten month old child was crushed under the wheels of a Mercedes car in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on Sunday while the driver was reserving the car.

Approximately around 3:30 PM, the kid identified as Radhika was playing in the parking area when she was hit by the car. She was rushed to the DDH Hospital bur was declared dead on arrival. Her father works as a security guard at the building.


The Haryana number vehical has been confiscated by police and the accused dirver has been taken into custody, said Deepak Purohit, DCP (West). The owner of the car is Jasbir Singh, a businessman dealing in elevators.

In separate incident, two people on a motor bike lost their lives after the rider lost his control while descending a flyover around 9 pm in Vikaspuri in Delhi. The bike struck a railing and both suffered serious injuries as nither of the two were wearing a helmet, police said. Both of them died on the spot.

The dead were identified as Gilshan (23) and Sunny (24), who earned their living as e-rickshaw drivers. The police said it was defficult to identify one of them as his body was badly crushed. “Broken pieces of the bike were found on the spot. A case has been filed at the Vikaspuri police station”, said senior police officer.

The two men were coming back from Peeragarhi side, said DCP. People who saw the accident said that the bike was at a very high speed when the rider lost control on the Vikaspuri flyover and rammed the divider on the road.

A bypasser notified a petrolling team in the area, who reached the spot and moved the bodies in an ambulance.
