Bihar youth stabbed to death by cousin over trivial issue

In a blood-curdling incident of crime brought to light from the state of Bihar’s Patna, a 20-year-old youth allegedly killed his cousin, aged 22, near Panki Tanki which falls under the jurisdiction of Mehendiganj police station on Saturday. Reportedly, a feud over Rs 8,000 led up to the murder.

As maintained by the cops, the victim has been identified as Chotu Kewat, aged 22, a daily wage worker. A few months back, his cousin Jaggu Kewat, aged 20, who is also a daily wager, had loaned him a sum of Rs 8,000. On Saturday, spat inflamed between the two over the money. Jaggu allegedly stabbed Chotu with a vegetable knife. Chotu sucumbed to his injuries on the way to NMCH hospital.


Following the episode, the duo’s uncle, named Raman Kewat, lodged a police complaint. The police arrested Jaggu from Patna Sahib railway station while he was making an attempt to board a train to Kolkata. Police said the victim and the accused had lost their parents. The two lived together with other members of their family, as per a report by The Times of India (TOI).

In a different incident of crime, a 17-year-old boy lost his life after being stabbed by one of his school juniors in Delhi’s Okhla area on Friday.

The crime took place after the victim, a Class 11 student, used foul language against the mother of the accused boy, a Class 10 student.

After school hours on Friday, the accused, a Class 10 student, stabbed the victim several times. The police later arrived at the crime spot and shifted the injured boy to a medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.
