Bengaluru: 32-year-old woman gets husband abducted after he started living with second wife

A bizarre kidnapping case has been reported in Bengaluru, Karnataka where a 32-year-old woman got abducted her husband as he started living with his wife.

However, police rescued the man on Thursday from the Hassan district. Also, four accused have been arrested by the police in the connection with kidnapping.


The accused have been identified as 26-year-old Abhishek (Hesaraghatta), 25-year-old Bharath (Bagalagunte), 22 -year-old Chaluva Murthy (Byadarahalli), 22-year-old Prakash KP (JP Nagar).

According to the reports in the Times of India, the victim’s first wife named Roma Sheikh tried to mislead the police by claiming that her husband has been kidnapped by his second wife.

Reportedly, Roma was living with her 32-year-old husband Shahid Sheikh in Marathahalli.

Later, Shahid married another woman Rathna Khatum a year ago and then he started living with her at Vishweshwaraya Layout on Sidedahalli Main Road.

Because of this Roman was not happy with her husband as he was living with his second wife permanently. Reportedly, Shahid also gave away her jewelry and money to his second wife Rathna Khatum.

Roma Sheikh planned to kidnap her husband, hence, she hired Abhishek and his accomplice to abduct Shahid. Reportedly, she paid Rs 2 lakh to the gang, N Shashikumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North.

Police told that Roma wanted to get her husband back and hired people whom, she knew.

On June 7, kidnappers abducted Shahid when he went out to purchase vegetables at 1 pm.

The accused then took Shahid to Hassan and held him captive at Bharath's farmhouse. Besides, the accused also had plans to demand ransom from Khatum.

The kidnappers demanded Rs 10 lakh from Khatum to release her husband Shahid, but finally, they agreed for Rs 2 lakh.

Later, Katum approached the police and tracked the kidnappers. In the captivity of the kidnappers, Shahid was assaulted by them. He has been admitted to the hospital.
