Andhra Pradesh's Tenali

A 22-year-old woman has been charged for attempt to murder after she tried to bobbitise a man, her mother's lover, in Tenali on Tuesday.

As maintained by the police, the injured identified as Ramachandra Reddy, aged 30, is a resident of Tummalapalam village, Cherukupalli Mandal in Bapatla district and has been living in Tenali for the past five years. It was only after a few months that he got acquainted with a woman, Sandhya, a mother of two girls.

However, Sandhya's younger daughter was upset with her mother's illicit relationship with the man.

On Tuesday, both Sandhya and Ramachandra went to watch a movie, following which Reddy returned home in an inebriated condition.

Seeing an opportunity, when Sandhya went outside the house to get water, her daughter Jyoti attacked the man and attempted to chop off his genitals using a blade.

Locals in the area heard Reddy screaming, following which they rushed to the spot, only to find him in a gory condition. Subsequently, Ramachandra Reddy was taken to Tenali government hospital. He was later referred to Guntur District Government Hospital for better treatment.

Upon receiving information, police team arrived at the spot and registered a case under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) against the woman and one of her friends who connived with her in the crime.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
