Angered by father’s unwillingness to sell house, son chokes him to death

In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, a man was allegedy strangled to death by his son on Friday as he was reportedly upset with his father’s unwillingness to sell their house. The body of the deceased victim was set on fire later by his son.

As maintained by the cops, the local residents noticed smoke coming out of Amrit’s house and they were informed. When police arrived at the spot, they instantly put out the flame and the body was recovered.


Following the unfortunate incident, the accused was sent to police custody.

As per the preliminary interrogation, Vineet Kumar, aged 24 had some heated arguments with his father, identified as Amrit Lal two days back. Vineet wanted to sell the house, but his father was not willing to sell it, The Times of India reported.

According to officials, Lal's wife Asha Devi had gone to her parent's house in Agra with her daughter, and just the father and son were there when incident took place.

After the incident, a police complaint was registered by the mother of the accused and a case was lodged against Kumar under section 201, 302 of the Indian Penal Code, SP (city) MP Singh told The Times of India.

In the meantime, the dead body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy.

As maintained by police, upon interrogation, the accused has confessed to committing the crime. Police further said that the body of the deceased was burnt by his son after it was wrapped in a blanket.
