Following National Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar’s change of direction enabled the BJP to comeback to power in Maharashtar, the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on monday stated that it has shut investigation into nine cases of alleged corruption in irragation projects in Maharashtra, further adding that none of these cases were connected to the NCP leader.

The ACB’s elucidation came after the Congress alleged that Ajit Pawar was pronounced not guilty after he supported the BJP to form the government two days ago.

"None of the cases pertaining to Ajit Pawar in the 2013 irrigation scam probe have been shut,” a senior ACB official said.

“This is a conditional closure, which means the state or the court can reopen the case,” the official said.

“We are probing around 3,000 tenders in irrigation connected complaints. These are routine investigations which are shut and all in progress inquiries are maintained as they were earlier,” the official stated.

Launching an attack at the BJP-Ajit Pawar government in the state of Maharashtra, the Congress claimed that the sole decision it had undertaken in public interest was to shut all cases of corruption and wrongdoing.
