After tiff with wife, man repeatedly smashes 8-month-old daughter till she dies

In a horryfying incident of crime reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, after an argument with wife, a man allegedly smashed his eight-month-old baby girl to the ground repeatedly till she died. The man has been taken into police custody following a complaint lodged by his wife.

As maintained by the police, the horrific incident occurred at Rahatpur Khurd village which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mandawali police station on July 31.


The accused, identified as Mohammad Nazim tied the knot with Mahtab Jahan, a native of Rahatpur Khurd village one and a half years ago and they had an eight-month-old daughter. The couple, however used to have regular altercations.

Following one such altercation, the wife (Mahtab) left her husband’s house and began living at her parents’ house a few days back. On the 31st July, a inebriated Nazim came to his wife's parents' house and demanded that their daughter be sent back with him. When Mahtab refused, the couple started fighting again.

All of a sudden, an enraged Nazim allegedly picked up his daughter and repeatedly smashed her on the floor untill the child died. Mahtab rushed the child to a private hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Mahtab then registered a complaint with the police who took Nazim into their custody on August 1. "Nazim was arrested early on Sunday morning and sent to jail," Dharamveer Singh, Bijnor superintendent of police, said.
