Weather update: Active monsoon conditions over central India; IMD predicts rainfall in these states

Weather update.

A number of areas of the country will see rainfall over the coming few days. As maintained by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), active monsoon conditions over central India, along the west coast and northwest India will prevail during the next five days.

The weather agency in its bulletin, forecasted rainfall over Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and southern states during the next few days.


As per the weather agency, "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gujarat State, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha during next 5 days."

Isolated heavy rainfall is forecasted over Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra, east Madhya Pradesh till 9th July. In the mean time, akin weather conditions will also prevail over Odisha till July 8.

"Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Gujarat region on 06th, 07th & 09th; Saurashtra & Kutch during 05th-08th; Konkan & Goa & Madhya Maharashtra on 09th; Coastal Karnataka on 05th & 06th; South Interior."

Karnataka on 5 th; Kerala and Maharashtra on 05th; West Madhya Pradesh on 05th and 08th; Vidarbha on 05th, 08th and 09th; Chhattisgarh on 07th and 08th and over Odisha on 05th and 09th July, 2022," said IMD. Scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also probable over Konkan and Goa till 8th July.

Moderately widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorms or lightning is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

Isolated to scattered rainfall is plausible over Uttar Pradesh during the next five days and over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.

According to the MeT, "Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh - Delhi during 07th-09th; West Uttar Pradesh on 09th; East Rajasthan on 06th and over West Rajasthan on 05th and 07th July, 2022."

Isolated heavy to overly heavy rainfall is also forecasted over West Rajasthan on July 8 and 9 and over East Rajasthan till 9th July.
