Karwa Chauth Puja Timings 2021: Know at what time moon will appear in your city

One of the most popular Hindu festivals, Karwa Chauth is just one day to go. Married women have already started preparation for the celebrations of the festival. On this auspicious day, married women observe a fast from sunrise to moonrise for the good health and longevity of their husbands.

In some parts of the country, unmarried girls also keep fast on Karwa Chauth for their fiancé or their future life partner. This year, Karwa Chauth will be observed on October 24.

For the celebrations, women wake up early in the morning to eat sargi and then begin other rituals of the festival. Sargi is usually prepared by the mother-in-law and she gives it to her daughter-in-law. After this, women observe fast till the moonrise even without drinking water.

After moonsighting, women perform rituals and break their fast either in the presence of their husband or in the absence too. This fast is completed only after offering Arghya to the moon. This is the reason why women are waiting to see the moon on Karwa Chauth.
