Chhath Puja 2018: Delhi Traffic Police advisory on Chhath Puja

The Delhi Traffic Police on Saturday has issued an advisory with special traffic arrangements and restrictions on November 13 and 14 on the occasion of Chhath Puja.

The police have advised commuters to avoid roads like Outer Ring Road from Mubaraka Chowk to Chandgi Ram Akhara, Wazirabad Bridge and roads near ISBT Kashmiri Gate on these two days.


Normal traffic flow will be affected on roads adjoining the major Ghats of Yamuna and water bodies like Balaswa lake and Haiderpur canal, according to the advisory.

Appropriate diversions will be made by traffic police based on ground requirement. In order to avoid parking problem, the police also enlisted the limited parking areas in the capital.

Chhath Puja, the festival dedicated to the Sun god, is celebrated on the sixth day Kartik month of Hindu calendar. Every year, the festival commences with paying oblation to the setting sun and concludes with the rising sun.

This year, Chhath Puja will be celebrated from the evening of November 13 till the morning of November 14.
