She's been thrown out of her house and branded a Naxalite. She is viewed as a major irritant by many police officials. But social researcher and activist Bela Bhatia hasn't given up the fight to secure rights for adivasis in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. In an interview with Catch on the sidelines of Rajasthan Patrika's Idea Fest, Bhatia talks about why issues such as Naxalism don't really scratch the urban psyche much, how a uniform solution may be possible for all regions experiencing similar conflict and how best to empower adivasi women in such highly volatile regions.
