Washington Post backlashes for its headline on Baghdadi obituary; check hilarious memes

The Washington Post faced criticism for its obituary headline on ISIS leader Abu Bak al-Baghdadi. A controversy has been sparked on the social media platform, several debates have triggered.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump announced that Baghdadi was killed in a military strike in Syria.

USA's prominent publication has first called the ISIS leader as the group’s terrorist-in-chief, and then edited it to call him an “austere religious scholar.”
WP wrote in its first headline was “ Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Islamic State's terrorist-in-chief, dies at 48” and later, changed to "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, an austere religious scholar at the helm of Islamic State, dies at 48."


This header to the story received worldwide criticism from the readers of publication and also netizens equally trolled the Washington Post because Baghdadi was not only a serial rapist and murderer but he had also committed genocide.
After getting negative comments, WP changed its headline once again to “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, extremist leader of Islamic State, dies at 48." Alas! The controversial headline was already spread with screenshots as proof on the social media platform.
The notorious netizens also created several hilarious memes on the post and brutally trolled the publication.
Besides, hashtag #WaPoDeathNotices also started trending online.
