Pakistan, on 26 October, summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh over the death of its two civilians in cross-border firing allegedly by Indian forces.

Registering a strong protest against the unprovoked ceasefire violations on 25-26 October at the Working Boundary in Chaprar and Harpal sectors and on the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimber sector, the Director General (SA & SAARC) conveyed India to investigate the incident and share the details with it.

Islamabad also asked India to instruct its troops to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC.
