At a time, when social media has gained so much importance, with almost every major decision being announced via this platform, Pakistan's army chief-designate Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa has no presence on it.
Notably, this clarification was issued by the Pakistan Army through social media.
Pakistan's Inter-Services Press Relations (ISPR) chief, Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa tweeted to announce that any accounts under army chief-designate's name are fake.
#COAS designate Gen Qamar Bajwa has zero presence on social media. All fb/twitter&other SM platforms ids&accounts on his name are fake— Gen Asim Bajwa (@AsimBajwaISPR) November 27, 2016
The announcement came just a day after Lieutenant General Bajwa was appointed as the country's new chief of army staff, succeeding General Raheel Sharif, who retires on 29 November.
