Hillary Clinton accuses FBI director James Comey for US Presidential elections defeat

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 10 February 2017, 1:41 IST

Hillary Clinton has reportedly alleged that she lost the US Presidential elections because of the FBI's decision to review the row over her email server.

Clinton alleged that FBI director James Comey's announcement of a fresh inquiry into the matter, two days before the 8 November elections, had halted her presidential campaign, BBC reported.

"Our analysis is that Comey's letter raising doubts that were groundless, baseless, proven to be, stopped our momentum. We dropped, and we had to keep really pushing ahead to regain our advantage," the BBC quoted Clinton as saying.

The row pertains to the probe into Clinton's use of a private server during her term as secretary of state.

While Clinton accepted blame for her loss, she also raked up a number of other factors that may have contributed to her defeat.
