On 6 October, the Manhattan Bridge in New York was graced with a giant banner bearing the face of Russian President Vladimir Putin, sending police in a tizzy.

The massive banner featuring Putin dressed in a suit, with the Russian flag bearing the message 'Peacemaker' in the background, appeared on the side of the bridge that connects lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department are on the lookout for whoever was responsible for the move since it received a call about the banner at about 2:45 pm on Thursday, removing it about half an hour later.

"There are no details on why or who, it has to be investigated," a spokesman told Reuters.

Police are scanning through surveillance videos to be able to identify a suspect.
