A heart-wrenching incident took place in England where a 20-year-old lesbian was brutally attacked by a group of men last week. Her face got covered in blood and bruises after the ghastly attack.

Charlie Graham left in shock after two men battered her in the head from behind and threw her to the ground. The incident took place when she was on her way to meet a friend in Sunderland in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In conversation with the Daily Mirror, Graham told that this is the fifth time that she has been targeted for her sexuality.

She also told to Daily Star that she has had to accept homophobia as a fact of life. After the attack she is suffering from panic attacks and anxiety attacks, Graham revealed.

“I have panic attacks and anxiety attacks just thinking about going home in case they find out where I live and decide to come through the door, or I get attacked in my own home. ‘I have had people threatening to come through my door and smash the windows in,” Charlie Graham told.

Meanwhile, the Northumbria Police are treating the case as a hate crime since they confirmed the incident.

Charlie also said: “I do worry if it happens again that it is worse than it was before.”

Her friend Natalie Singh who helped Charlie said that after the incident, Charlie was dazed and her eyes were rolling into the back of her head.

For the past week, she has had serious pain and now, has been suffering from panic attacks. “It has knocked my confidence back,” Charlie said.

“I don’t go anywhere by myself anymore. I only feel comfortable at my mum’s house. I have panic attacks and anxiety attacks just thinking about going home in case they find out where I live and decide to come through the door, or I get attacked in my own home.”

In another attack, someone also called Charlie, a d**e” because she was holding hands with her girlfriend and then punched her in the face. While in another attack she was also left with a black eye.

Her mother Michelle Storey also said that her daughter has been attacked several times and also becomes a victim of verbal abuse due to her sexuality and her expression.

Northumbria Police confirmed the attack, and they said that they are investigating it as a hate crime. No arrest has been made.
