So that's why Shahid Kapoor isn't a judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa anymore

Shahid Kapoor is currently on a short break from tinsel town. The actor, who recently wrapped up shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon, plans to resume work on his next projects after the birth of his first child, expected in September.

In a recent interview with a leading daily, Shahid opened up about his absence from popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this year. The latest edition of the show has Jacqueline Fernandez, Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde on the judging panel. When asked about why he gave it a miss, Shahid said:

"I felt I was a misfit as a judge on the show. I loved hosting the show for those few episodes I did. But when you have such talented dance gurus sitting, it becomes very awkward for me to judge anyone. I don't think I am that big yet. I cannot say bad things to anyone and it was very difficult for me to criticise anyone's performance."

While Shahid seems to have retired his judging cap, he has also said that he would love to host a show. The actor said that he was elated to host the prestigious IIFA awards and said that he would like to bag a few more such assignments.
