Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna lost Nach Baliye 7 to newly married TV stars Himmanshoo Malhotra and Amruta Khanvilkar. The couple turned out to be the second runners up of the seventh season of celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye at its grand finale. Nandish Sandhu-Rashami Desai were declared the first runners up of the show.

While the finalists were dressed in black outfits, the three judges, actress Preity Zinta looked gorgeous in a red gown, choreographer Marzi sported a black suit and writer Chetan Bhagat wore a blue bandhgala suit.

Besides the golden trophy, Himmanshoo, 33, and Amruta, 30, were presented with a car and prize money worth Rs 30 lakh.

"We expected to win but there was no stubbornness... We gave good performances throughout the show. Out of 12 weeks, seven weeks we were top scorers. So expectation was there. A lot of prayers have paid off today. People are so happy with our win," the couple told reporters after the finale last evening.

The winning couple, who tied the knot in January this year, started as underdogs but with their consistent high scoring performances they impressed the judges and fans.

"Ritwik (show's co-host) rightly said it was a close fight among the four couples. I was really scared. I was shivering when the result was being announced," said Amruta.

The couple said they are happy that people are calling them "well deserved" winners.

"It is a win of reality and honesty. People are telling us we are deserving winners so that makes us very happy. We think, people's faith in reality shows has increased with our win," the couple said.

Also present at the finale were other nine eliminated couples.
