HBO's Game of Thrones creators talk about Gendry, prove they don't really care about us

Micheal Jackson was right after all. They don't really care about us.

As the world visibly darkens in Westeros, what with winter and series finale that much closer in sight, the creators of HBO's hit series Game of Thrones, Dan Weiss and David Benioff have finally spoken about Gendry, the long-lost Baratheon bastard who's been apparently rowing a boat since Season 5.

When questioned about the dark-haired blacksmith on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, they said:

Dan Weiss: "He's still rowing."

David Benioff: "Yes, he's still rowing. It's a long, a very long..."

Dan Weiss: "He's coming up on Florida."

David Benioff: "He's getting in great shape. Think of the shape he's in after rowing for four seasons."

Dan Weiss: "Big lats."

Are you fuming? You should be fuming. Do remember that it was discovering Gendry that really started the ball rolling in Kings Landing - first for Jon Arryn and then for Ned Stark. They could have done away with him when Joffery went on a bastard killing spree, but he came back, became friends with Arya.

In Season 3 Melisandre tells Gendry: "You're more than they (the Brotherhood Without Banners) can ever be. They're just foot soldiers in a great war. You will make kings rise and fall."

What kings was she talking about though? All that buildup for nothing? Now that Melisandre's been banished from the North, any chances we'll see Gendry come back with her help? With just 13 episodes to go for season finale, chances are that Gendry's boat has been put out to sea forever.

May the seven be with him.
