Xiaomi Redmi 5: Amazon to exclusively launch the phone today, priced around Rs 7000

After the success of Redmi 5, Xiaomi India last week announced that it will launch its latest budget smartphone Redmi 5 in India on March 14. There is one information out on the phone, The e-commerce giant Amazon has revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be exclusively on its platform. Amazon has created a page for the announcement that tells about the exclusive availability of the phone on its platform.

Along with this, buyers can purchase the device from Xiaomi's official website Mi.com and Mi home store. There are speculations that the phone might be launched by 3 pm on March 14. Xiaomi Redmi 5 was first launched in China last year, along with the Redmi 5 Plus. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and comes with nano dual-SIM support.

The Redmi 5 features a large 5.7-inch HD+ with 720x1440 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The device is powered by Snapddragon 450 processor which is backed by 2/3/4 GB of RAM. The Smartphone comes in two variants, 32/64 GB Variant. However, the storage can be extended with a MicroSD card.

The handset comes with a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 5MP secondary camera equipped with selfie flash. The selfie camera also comes with company’s own proprietary beautify 3.0 capabilities. With dimensions measuring 151.8x72.8x7.7mm, the smartphone comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone gets its power from a 3,300 mAh battery.
The phone is expected that the company might set the price of the device around Rs 7000.
