Vivo launches V3, V3 Max in India

With an aim to compete with Xiaomi, Gionee, LeEco and other established brands, Chinese electronics product giant Vivo launched two new smartphones - V3 and V3 Max - in the Indian market.

While launching the phones, CEO of Vivo India Alex Feng said:

"It gives me immense pleasure to announce the launch of our innovation, the V3 and V3Max for the Indian market. The V series designed with creativity and equipped with state of art technology will be a landmark for Vivo India."

"India remains our prime focus and the launch of these models is a testimony of our commitment to cater to the ever growing demand of meticulous customers in India and worldwide. The V3 and V3Max offer an unbeatable proposition of cutting edge technology, impressive looks and Hi-Fi music quality in the industry."

Specifications of the Vivo V3Max

Vivo V3Max is a top-end smartphone and comes with a metal body. Here are the specifications:

  • 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip),
  • 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory
  • 3000mAh battery
  • 2.5 D Corning Gorilla Glass
  • 5.5-inch screen
  • Price: Rs 23,980

Specifications of the Vivo V3

The low-budget smartphone Vivo V3 also comes with metal cover but comes with different features:

  • 5.0-inch HD screen
  • 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16GB inbuilt memory
  • 2,550mAh battery.
  • Price: Rs 17,980

The phones share a number of common features, including a fingerprint sensor and the camera hardware - a 13MP front snapper with HDR, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), LED flash on the back and an 8MP front camera.

Contenders

The Vivo V3 will compete with phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Oppo F1, OnePlus X, and Moto G (3rd Gen). Interestingly, few of these smartphones are cheaper.

On other hand, the Vivo V3Max will compete with phones like OnePlus 2, Xiaomi Mi 5, YU Yureka, and Moto X Style.

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who attended the launch event, has been roped in as the brand ambassador for the phones.
