OnePlus 2 gets a permanent price cut in India; 16GB starts at Rs 20999

Smartphone company OnePlus, on 15 March, announced a permanent price cut of Rs 2,000 for its flagship OnePlus 2 in the India.

The discount, announced right before Holi, will be permanent and applicable for the smartphone's 16GB and 64GB variants. Effectively, now the 16GB model is available at Rs 20,999, whereas the 64GB OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs 22,999.

The phone was launched in July 2015 and received over 40 lakh registrations for invitations before the first flash sale. The company said that its operations have increased in the last few months.

However, the price cut could be considered a possible hint of the company's next launch, OnePlus 3, which will reportedly be launched in the second quarter of 2016.

The company has also launched a mid-level smartphone OnePlus X last year, just before Diwali. The phone received better reviews than the flagship OnePlus 2.
