At one of the most awaited events of the tech world, Apple launched an array of devices. After months of rumours and leaks, Apple has finally unveiled the iPad Pro, the biggest iPad ever.

Biggest iPad ever!

Introducing it to the world, Apple CEO Tim Cook said it's the "biggest news in iPad since the iPad."

The new iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch display, and uses the new split screen app features of iOS 9. The width of the iPad Pro is the same as the height of the iPad Air 2. "It can do things that a smartphone doesn't do because it doesn't have to sit in your pocket," says Apple's Phil Schiller.

Apple iPad Pro

A super-fast processor

iPad Pro has a variable refresh rate. It is powered by the A9X chip - the third-generation 64-bit chip which is up to 1.8 times faster than A8X processor.

iPad Pro has 4 speakers

The latest iPad has a 4 speaker system which means it is three times the volume of iPad Air 2. It's 6.9mm thin and weighs 712 grams.

Super-smart features

While it has a full software keyboard, Apple went all out and launched a Smart Keyboard cover for the Pro, making it a viable laptop replacement for the first time ever.

Even more surprising: the addition of a stylus for the iPad Pro that the company is calling Apple Pencil. While social media was quick to mock Apple for the launch of the stylus - because Steve Jobs had famously mocked the idea - it seems to make sense for a host of functions it will allow users to do. The Pencil supports multiple levels of pressure on the display. The Pro also features an 8 megapixel iSight camera while on the connectivity front, it has Wi-Fi, 4G LTE as well as a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Naturally, the priciest ever

iPad Pro will be available in Space Gray, Gold and Silver. Prices start at US $799 and go up to US $1,079 - the most expensive iPad launch from Apple. The Pencil is priced at $99 and the Smart Keyboard at $169.

All will be available in November.
