Facebook vs Terrorism: Raises a team of 200 people to fight against terrorism; see details

Facebook has started to curb the extremism on its platform by removing such posts built to spread propaganda by Islamic state and Al-Qaeda. Officials said in a statement, we are developing new tools to remove the messages which promote propaganda and extremism on Facebook. The Global head of anti-terrorist policy Mr Fishman has explained that this year Facebook has removed around 19 lakh posts associated with Islamic states and Al-Qaeda is last three months. Facebook has also deleted profile and groups who were violated the policies.

Fishman said further “ We have made important developments in identifying and dealing with such posts”. He said, “ We are not in an illusion that we had done sufficient work”. Facebook was having a team of 150 members which has been increased to 200 people.

They further added “ We take terrorism as an organisation who wants to procure political, religious and ideological agenda, by treating normal population, government and international organisations and organising preplanned violence to capture the public property.

 

The terrorist organisation always try to put hurdles in our system. It is notable that, Twitter recently made an announcement that microblogging website has suspended more than 10 lakh accounts involved in spreading terrorism.

In recently published report Facebook said that we suspended more than 274,460 in between July and December. Twitter and Facebook are facing pressure to take actions on such accounts.
