Datsun launches redi-GO Urban Cross at Rs 2.38 lakh

Datsun has launched the much-awaited redi-GO urban cross at an attractive price range of INR 2,38,862 - 3,34,229 lakh, ex-showroom, Chennai. Redi-GO, built on the same platform as the Renault Kwid, is expected to shake the market. Redi-GO will compete with Maruti Alto-800, Hyundai Eon, Tata Nano-Genx and Renault Kwid.

Speaking at the launch, Guillaume Sicard, president, Nissan India Operations, said, "With Datsun redi-GO, we offer a unique urban-crossover styled in Japan, developed and manufactured in India. We are redefining conventional expectations and notions associated with the entry level car segment in India with a modern, fresh, stylish and accessible product. The Datsun redi-GO comes at a compelling price point and reaffirms Datsun philosophy of Dream, Access and Trust."

With a length of 3429mm, width of 1560mm and height of 1541mm, redi-GO is compact yet follows a tall-boy design for a spacious cabin. It offers the best in class ground clearance of about 185mm and the boot capacity is 222 litres.

Redi-GO carries the same engine as Kwid. 799cc, 3-cylinder, petrol engine that can develop 53 BHP of peak power at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of peak torque at 4,388 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 15.9 seconds. It achieves a top speed of 140 km/h. As per ARAI, the vehicle's mileage is 25.17kmpl under standard testing conditions.

The Datsun redi-GO will be available in five attractive colour options - White, Silver, Grey, Ruby and Lime. Redi-GO is decently equipped and its main features include day time running lights, power windows and 2-DIN audio system, USB and AUX connectivity.
